Mark Painter was one of the BCRfm team who won the licence to broadcast to Bridgwater and the surrounding area.
The team were awarded the licence from OFCOM, and launched the station on July the 4th 2001.
Mark became the managing director in November 2001 and remained in that position until the station was sold to Choice media.
Despite the success that Mark and the team had made of the station, the new owners decided to replace him.
The station was subsequently sold and renamed Quaywest FM, and then renamed Total Star.
